AC Milan resisted offers for Jens Petter Hauge during the January market.
The Norway international arrived last summer from Bodo/Glimt and has impressed when called upon by coach Stefano Pioli.
Gazzetta dello Sport says Bayer Leverkusen and Southampton made attempts for Hauge in January, with both clubs eager to take him on-loan.
But Milan resisted both proposals, insisting Hauge is in Pioli's plans for the remainder of the season.
Milan's stand comes despite Hauge not being registered for the Europa League this week.
