Bayern Munich boss Hansi Flick hopes youngster Jamal Musiala will sign a new contract.

The teenager, who could play for either England or Germany, is entering the final 18 months of his contract.

He will soon be 18, and the club would hope to tie him down to a long term deal this summer.

Flick told Sport Bild: "Why should he go anywhere else?

"He can develop here, and he has the support and appreciation of the club, the coaching team and the other players. "

"I spoke to Jamal and told him that he would have to decide it all by himself," Flick added.

"He has to take responsibility for his future himself."

Musiala spent eight years at Chelsea before moving back to Germany with Bayern in 2019.
