Everton striker Joshua King has spoken about the qualities he can bring to Carlo Ancelotti's team.

The attacker came on against Leeds United on Wednesday, 48 hours after signing from Bournemouth on deadline day.

The 29-year-old is on an initial loan, and can then decide his future in the summer as he will be a free agent.

"I got a phone call from the boss, Carlo Ancelotti, and [Director of Football] Marcel Brands," King told the club's website.

"They kept it quite straight and said I would be given an opportunity and would have to work hard.

"They want me in the squad to help push for the Europa League and Champions League and we are in a good position now.

"I could not turn down playing for Everton and learning from a manager like Carlo, who has won what he has and with his experience. He is a big, big name in football.

"I am quick and powerful and strong and good at driving with the ball and known in the Premier League for having decent goalscoring statistics.

"I was thrilled getting my debut and just have to work hard and learn a lot.

"I can play in any of the front three positions and that helps the depth of the squad.

"I think I can improve as a player and I want to help the team in whatever way the manager sees fit."
