Bournemouth striker Josh King has declared he wants to stay with Everton.

But the deadline day signing accepts a long-term deal at Goodison has to be "right" for both him and the club.

King joined from Bournemouth earlier this month for, what Everton described as, a "nominal fee" on a deal that runs until the end of the season.

Speaking to the matchday programme, King said: “This squad and club are reaching and climbing and building something.

“I am eager to prove myself and to try to give the boss a reason to pick me.

“I feel ready and this week of training will do me good.

“I am focusing on working hard and trying to reach my top form as quickly as possible.

“Then we will see what happens in the summer.

“I am loving it and, of course, would love to stay but it has to be right for the club and for me."
