Brighton boss Graham Potter has confirmed they plan to discuss new terms with Danny Welbeck.
However, negotiations won't kickoff until the end of the season.
“We need to score points and achieve certain goals for the season, Danny knows that he will play a big role in this," said Potter.
"Then, when the season is over, we sit down and discuss his future. At the moment Welbeck is very important to us."
Off contract in June, Welbeck scored in victory over Newcastle last night.
