Crystal Palace boss Roy Hodgson praised Christian Benteke for victory over West Brom.
Palace won 1-0 via a penalty and Hodgson was happy to secure the three points.
He said, "We knew what a difficult game this was going to be. West Brom have improved enormously over the last few weeks. They have really been in with a chance in all of those games. It was very important for us to make certain we answered the questions that were asked of us. We dealt with what West Brom throw at us well. We were fortunate enough to get the penalty which won us the game and it was a vital three points as it kept us a good distance from the bottom three. If we hadn't, we might have found ourselves looking over our shoulder.
"It's a very good total after 29 games. 37 points from 29 games is an awful lot more than the club is used to having so that's very satisfactory. If we show the commitment that we showed tonight then I am confident we will get ourselves over the line again and Palace will have another season in the Premier League.
"Christan Benteke not only did his job in holding the ball up in our attack, he did his job in defence too."
