Paraguay international Anthony Silva says Miguel Almiron's injury is not as bad as first feared.
The Newcastle United attacker has been out of since February 22 with a knee injury.
Toon have struggled without Almiron, Callum Wilson and Allan Saint-Maximin.
But Almiron's international Silva is upbeat about his return.
He said, via the Chronicle: "I spoke with Miguel and it is not as much as they say about his injury. He told me that he is fine."
Wilson returned to training this week in another welcome boost for Steve Bruce.
The Magpies face fellow relegation battlers Brighton on Saturday.
