A Barcelona delegation is in Argentina this week for talks with Racing for teenage whizkid Gonzalo Sosa.
Real Madrid have been following the youngster since Santiago Solari was coach, but Barca have now jumped ahead in the battle after sending representatives to Argentina to launch negotiations.
Sosa, who turned 16 on January 5, reappeared in a friendly last Friday against Nueva Chicago after being out for two weeks due to a blow to the mouth in training. With scores at 0-0 and with ten minutes to go, Sosa entered the field and eventually scored the winning goal. In the stands on the day were scouts from AC Milan.
PSG, Manchester City and Bayern Munich are also interested in signing the Argentine striker.
