Emergency needed to deal with Covid effectively: Jonathan

RANAU: Deputy Home Minister II, Jonathan Yasin said the emergency proclamation is due to existing legal provisions being insufficient to deal with Covid-19 more effectively.

“From September 2020 there was a significant increase in cases in Malaysia and was very worrying. The third wave at the end of 2020 resulted in the public health sector being severely affected when cases reached more than 5,000 and death cases rose sharply.
