Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder can't guarantee he'll be leading them in the Championship next season.

Wilder knows United will almost certainly be relegated and has begun planning to bounce straight back up next season.

But while owner Prince Abdullah has vowed to keep Wilder in charge if they do go down, the Blades boss has hinted at tensions over their rival visions of the club's future.

Asked ahead of Wednesday's clash with Aston Villa at Bramall Lane, if he will be in charge next season, Wilder said: “I don't know.

“Listen, heads down and on to the Villa game. Let's see if we can get a result and what will be, will be."

When pressed if he would like to remain, Wilder said: "Yep, definitely if we stick to the plan. "I know what direction I want to take the football club in, where it should be, but it's not happening."
