Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has burnout fears for Bukayo Saka after his latest England call.
Saka was forced out of last Sunday's north London derby at half-time and missed Thursday's game against Olympiacos, but will available for this afternoon's clash with West Ham.
The injury issue didn't hasn't stop Three Lions boss Southgate calling Saka up for the World Cup qualifiers against San Marino, Albania and Poland.
But, whether he gets minutes or not today, Arteta doesn't want to see the 19-year-old put at any risk of a recurrence of the problem.
Asked if he feared for Saka's workload, Arteta said: “Yes, but that's why we need some really good communication between ourselves and the player and the national team.
“I know how important he is for us and for the summer with England, so let's make the right call and let's think about the short term but the future as well."
Saka is a seriously exciting prospect at Arsenal but the club have had plenty of those over the years and few have gone on to enjoy the success they were once tipped to.
Arteta added: “It's about the support, guidance, education and coaching we give them and then the other factor is how they deal everything that happens externally.
“In order to do the best as well, his family and entourage is key.
“Bukayo is lucky that he has the right people around him and that's going to be really important for him."
