Belgium coach Roberto Martinez has ended interest in Leeds United defender Pascal Struijk.
The Holland U21 international qualifies for Belgium and has held talks with Martinez about committing to the Rode Duivels.
“It now seems that his heart is with the Netherlands. We have to respect that, no matter how interesting his profile is," Martínez said.
Despite this, the Spanish trainer will still keep the door ajar for the former Ajax youth teamer.
"I don't want to start a war between two football associations. He will therefore not be in my squad. But that does not mean that the file is closed."
