Brighton manager Graham Potter was pleased to see his side rewarded for their hard work against Southampton on Sunday.
The Seagulls claimed a deserved 2-1 win at St. Mary's to pull further away from the relegation zone.
Potter said: "I thought it was a deserved victory, it was a hard-fought game.
"But I am so pleased for the players because we have had a tough run recently and we have stuck together and got the rewards today for the performance."
Speaking on the win, goalscorer Lewis Dunk added: "It feels really good, that was a proper performance. We were disappointed with the goal we conceded, it was not good enough from us.
"But it was an all-round good performance and we showed with that second goal how good we can be."
