Chelsea are driving for change in the transfer window system this year.

At Thursday's Premier League clubs' meeting, Chelsea proposed the existing window be pushed back from June 9 to June 16, with a week added to the August 31 deadline to allow for deals between Premier League and EFL teams, says the Daily Mail.

The move would echo what happened last October.

It needs club support plus FA approval, though it was well received at the virtual conference.

Another topic of discussion was rearranging the final three games of the season to prepare for fans' return.

Presently, they are set to be played over 12 days, on Wednesday, Saturday and the following Sunday. The Premier League are keen to truncate that schedule to nine days so that, under current plans, fans could attend the final two rounds after stadiums partially reopen on May 17.
