Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp refuses to blame the team's home stadium for their recent Premier League malaise.

The Reds have been on a historic losing run at home in the league in recent months.

Their run of form is so poor they have dropped from being top of the table at Christmas to out of the top four at present.

"Maybe because of the performances and maybe the opponents? I don't remember," Klopp said when asked about the poor form at Anfield by reporters.

"All the opponents to be honest, but that might be the reason.

"You know we have had really good moments in this season and we've won Tottenham and West Ham recently, they were really good games and you see how they are doing.

"It was a consistency issue and that is maybe the reason. It has nothing to do with Anfield.

"I have nothing bad to say about Anfield, it is not that we don't like the pitch or it is not good enough, that is all fine. It was just about the games.

"I've said it 5,000 times football is not the game we love when nobody is interested in watching in a stadium.

"So of course we miss [fans] a lot and of course at Liverpool we miss them a lot because we have the most special atmosphere in the world of football, that is clear.

"It's not an excuse, we have dealt with it really well for a long time playing without supporters but in difficult times then obviously, that can be helpful, especially.

"I can't wait for the day when people are allowed again to go to football matches."
