Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has joked that Fabinho prefers playing in midfield after the Brazilian's excellent display against RB Leipzig.
Having filled at centre-back for the majority of the season due to injuries, Fabinho anchored the midfield brilliantly to help Liverpool claim a 2-0 victory over Leipzig and book their place in the Champions League quarter-finals.
Speaking to BT Sport, Klopp said: "I asked him afterwards: 'You like the position No6 more than the other one and he said 'Yes!'. He could not have been more clear.
"We all want Fab on the six, that's how it is, tonight he played there and the two centre-backs played an incredible game.
"The whole last line played a really good game because that's really a hard task, Leipzig. They have runners everywhere, so you have to be high - but not too high."
He continued: "It was my hope before the season [Fabinho playing in midfield] and during the season it didn't happen, so we have to see what solutions we can find for the next games – for Wolves first and foremost.
"Of course, No.6 is his position, one of the best in the world in that position, it's clear. It was not only defending-wise really good from him, he played some good stuff as well. [He is] important for us."
