Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho has been accused of treating Luke Shaw "horrendously" while in charge of Manchester United.
He was brutal on Paul Pogba, clashing with the Frenchman at the club's Carrington training complex in front of the Sky Sports cameras.
And Mourinho was even worse towards Shaw, often slamming the England international in public.
Now, however, The Athletic have quoted an insider claiming Mourinho was 'absolutely horrendous' on Shaw in private.
“It was absolutely horrendous privately," they said.
“Much worse. But Luke didn't go within himself. He is a strong personality. In the end, he just ignored Jose's comments."
Mourinho often picked the likes of Daley Blind and Marcos Rojo over Shaw, despite neither being left-back specialists.
And he wanted to land Juventus defender Alex Sandro as a replacement for the former Southampton star in 2018, only for that deal to fail to materialise.
