Arsenal produced an impressive performance in a 4-0 win over Slavia Prague to book a Europa League semi-final with Villarreal.

The pressure was on Arsenal ahead of their trip to Prague, having let Slavia equalise in the dying moments of the first leg at the Emirates.

But Mikel Arteta's side look determined from the first whistle and deservedly broke the deadlock through Nicolas Pepe after 18 minutes of play.

They would score two more goals within the next six minutes.

The first was through an Alexandre Lacazette penalty after Bukayo Saka was fouled in the box.

Saka himself then got in on the act when he cooly swept home Arsenal's third.

Rather than lose concentration, as they have done at times this season, the Gunners handled their lead with relative ease and even added a fourth goal in the second-half when Lacazette completed his brace.

The win books a semi-final with Spanish outfit Villarreal, who are coached by Arteta's predecessor, Unai Emery.

And when interviewed after the game, Arteta was delighted his players delivered in what he described as a 'crucial moment' for the club.

He said: "We started really well in a convincing way, aggressive in our high press. We looked a threat all the time. I really like the reaction of the team to the goal being disallowed. We scored some great goals, The clean sheet is important as well, the second one in two games.

"It helped the way we played against Sheffield United. The players were in high confidence, when performances are so high the collective improves. The boys were really at it from the start.

"It is a really important win in a crucial moment. We won in a convincing way, so credit to the players.

"There is still a lot to do and things we can improve on, but we have a real desire to improve and be better every day. It will be really tough and Unai Emery is probably the most successful manager in this competition."
