Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has left Twitter after the club's announcement of entering the European Super League.

The Gunners and five other teams in England founded the ill fated league on Sunday, along with six other European sides.

The plans did not last long, and all the English teams have withdrawn from the competition as of Tuesday night.

Earlier in the day, skipper Aubameyang confirmed he was leaving Twitter due to the fallout from the Super League reveal.

The post read, per the Daily Mirror: "I ain't missed you Twitter. So we not allowed to talk about anything? Only football and Super League? No more talking about Covid?!

"Or online abuse or racism...nice.

"Even sick (without fone), I was feeling better than now with fone (sic) let me turn it off. See u."
