Kota Kinabalu: Two men claimed trial in the High Court, here, Wednesday, to drug trafficking, respectively.

Calvin Low Chan Hoe, 23, who was brought before Judicial Commissioner Amelati Parnell, pleaded not guilty to trafficking 3,448.

05pm on Oct 23, 2019 near the Nationwide Express, HS Commercial Centre, Penampang.

Yong Glen Ming, 28, pleaded not guilty before Judge Datuk Nurchaya Hj Arshad to trafficking 2,838.

30pm on Nov 25, 2020 at the Freight Mark Express at Golden Hill Commercial Park, Mile 7.

5, Jalan Tuaran, Inanam.

They were each charged under Section 39B(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act which carries the death sentence or imprisonment for life and whipping of not less than 15 strokes if not sentenced to death, upon conviction.

The court set Sept 20-23 for Low’s trial.

For Yong’s case, the court fixed June 31 for pre-trial case management.

Deputy Public Prosecutor (DPP) Mohd Khairuddin Idris prosecuted.

Counsel Faezah Abby Ibnu stood in for counsel Dominic Chew, who is representing Low while Yong was represented by counsel Zahir Shah.

Low and Yong were ordered to be remanded further as the charges against them have no provision for bail.
