TAWAU: An elderly man paid a RM5,000 fine for negligent driving which resulted in causing serious injuries to a motorcyclist in an accident in January.
Patte Tase, 65, pleaded guilty before Magistrate Amir Shah Amir Hassan, to committing the offence at the junction to Sthamin Supermarket along Jalan Kuhara at 4.30pm on Jan 13, 2021.
According to the facts of the case, the man was returning home to Kg Jawa Sentosa in his Ford Ranger from the supermarket direction when the car collided with the motorcyclist, Mohd Hamzy Md Insun, 20, a JNT runner.
