Manchester United could land Juventus star Cristiano Ronaldo on a free transfer this summer.
The Athletic reports United could be boosted in their latest attempts to explore his potential arrival by Juve's finances.
They say United think Ronaldo's price could be lowered because Juve need to balance the books and would welcome the chance to remove his pay packet of around 80m euros a year.
Ronaldo was an unused substitute for the final day of the season when Juve's Champions League status was yet to be confirmed.
Agent Jorge Mendes has spoken to United about his client's situation in recent days.
