Manchester United owners the Glazers have held talks with the agent of Juventus star Cristiano Ronaldo, according to reports.
The Portuguese superstar is set to leave Juve this summer as the Italian club tries to reduce their enormous wage bill after the financial impact of the coronavirus pandemic.
Talk of a fairytale return to Old Trafford, where Ronaldo made his name, has been touted for years.
According to the Express, the Glazers have initiated talks to make the deal happen.
The Americans want big name signings this summer and have contacted Jorge Mendes, Ronaldo's agent, over a potential move.
Despite being 36, Ronaldo managed to 29 goals from 33 league appearances for Juve this season.
He will also be turning out for Portugal at Euro2020 this summer, hoping to defend their triumph four years ago.
