Southampton defender Kyle Walker-Peters admits they paid for not taking their chances in defeat to Leeds United.
Saints lost 2-0 at home on a night which saw 8,000 fans back at St Mary's.
"I thought we were good in the first half," admitted Walker-Peters. "I thought we were on top for most of it, if not all of it. Again, unfortunate not to take any of our chances and we got punished in the second half.
“When you're on top, you've got to take your chances, just like they did. Second-half they get that one chance and they take it. We need to start doing that.
"It's really frustrating not to win today, we wanted to go for three in a row but hopefully next week we can put that right.
“Lovely to hear them [the fans] singing, lovely when they're getting behind you. Hopefully over time more and more can come back.
“I think it makes a small difference, regardless of fans or no fans were always here to give 100% and give our best. That little extra boost does help."
