Former AC Milan owner Yonghong Li was delighted for Franck Kessie after victory over Atalanta.
Kessie scored twice from the spot for the win, with the points secured seeing Milan finish in second place and qualify for the Champions League.
Kessie was one of Li's first signings when in control of the club.
"Always expect excellence from Kessie. Always," Li posted to social media. "A true champion."
