Frank Rijkaard is being linked with a shock return to Barcelona.
Mundo Deportivo says Rijkaard is being discussed inside the Barca boardroom as they prepare to remove Ronald Koeman as coach at the end of this season.
Xavi, in charge of Al Sadd, has been regarded as favourite to succeed Koeman.
However, there is also consideration being given to former Barca coach Rijkaard, who is highly admired by senior players inside the locker room.
Rijkaard hasn't held a senior coaching position since 2013 when he was in charge of Saudi Arabia.
In his time in charge of Barca, Rijkaard won two LaLiga titles and a Champions League.
