TAWAU: A Sarawakian was found dead at Lorong Leitz Dua Fajar here (pic), at about 5pm, on Tuesday.
Tawau District Police Chief ACP Peter Umbuas identified the deceased as Izuan Zamlie Nawawi, 48, who was often seen in the Fajar area.
He said a police team patrolling the area was alerted of the find by civilians.
“The team rushed to the scene and called an ambulance,” he said, adding the man was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.
Personnel from the Ministry of Health brought the body to the Tawau Hospital for Covid-19 screening.
Umbuas said a post mortem will be conducted to determine the cause of death after the Covid-19 screening result is out and the case is currently classified as sudden death.
