Al Sadd coach Xavi insists his goal remains to take charge of Barcelona.

However, the Barca captain says he's happy to remain patient and learn the ropes away from the club.

“I'm not in a hurry. Training Barça is a dream and an illusion and I did not imagine that I would have had two offers," he said.

"I feel much more prepared and I hope that everything comes."

Xavi admits he's never heard from Barca president Joan Laporta.

He continued: “He is there to make decisions and I have not been able to speak with him. There is a coach with a contract and you have to respect him and I wish them all the best.

“I keep talking to many players who are friends. What Joan has decided will be the best for the club due to the circumstances they now have. I am always aware of Barça, but in the last 3-4 months I have not had contact with Joan or anyone on the board."
