Manchester City midfielder Phil Foden says Ben White is the England player who has surprised him the most.
Arsenal are closing in on a £50m move for the Brighton defender.
White has attracted the Gunners' attention after helping Brighton stay in the Premier League last season, following his impressive loan spell with promotion-winning Leeds United the previous campaign.
Asked which England player had surprised him most, Foden told ITV: "You know I really haven't seen a lot of Ben and he came in and has been brilliant in training, so I'd say Ben White."
Foden started England's first two group stage matches but was hauled off just before the hour mark in last week's goalless draw against Scotland.
