TAWAU: A container lorry driver and his assistant sustained serious injuries when their lorry crashed at the Kg Pengkalan Asli junction, along KM30 Jalan Tawau-Kalabakan, here, Saturday.
Tawau District Police Chief ACP Peter Umbuas said the 37-year-old driver sustained injuries to his abdomen, lungs, head and a fractured waist, while the 25-year-old assistant sustained fractures to his right thigh and lungs.
