Aston Villa have been linked with a shock move for Arsenal whizkid Emile Smith Rowe.
The Gunners academy graduate has yet to sign an extension with the club, with his current deal expiring in 2023.
And according to the Daily Telegraph, Villa are trying to lure the England U21 international to the Midlands.
Villa boss Dean Smith is keen to add Smith Rowe, who managed 18 league starts this season, to his English attacking duo of Jack Grealish and Ollie Watkins.
The modus operandi for Villa in the transfer market this summer is to buy young British-based players who already have Premier League experience, per the Birmingham Mail.
Smith Rowe fits the bill for Villa, but it is unlikely Arsenal would let a prized youngster leave without a fight.
