Everton are close to sealing a deal for Sporting CP midfielder Matheus Nunes.
A Bola says the deal is edging closer to completion, with the Toffees having reportedly already agreed terms with Matheus on a contract which will see his salary skyrocket from £170,000 a year to £1m.
Matheus has just enjoyed a strong breakthrough season at Sporting Lisbon, making 39 appearances in all competitions and adding two goals from his role playing just in front of the defence.
Although he started just 12 games in the Portuguese top flight, he did help Sporting to their first league title in 19 years.
Everton hope to settle on a fee of £18m with Sporting.
