Aston Villa are moving for River Plate winger Julian Alvarez.
The Birmingham Mail says Villa will begin talks with the representatives of £15m-rated Argentina international Alvarez this week over a potential switch to Dean Smith's side, according to reports.
Alvarez, who plays for River Plate in his home country, is believed to be keen on a switch to Europe this summer to take the next step in his career.
Alvarez, who had a trial with Real Madrid in his youth but missed out on a dream move, has spent the entirety of his professional career at River after joining the Argentinian heavyweights from Atletico Calchin in 2016.
Aged just 21, the winger enjoyed an impressive season with 11 goals in 20 appearances across the Copa Libertadores - the South American equivalent of the Champions League - and the Copa da le Liga.
