Aston Villa boss Dean Smith is eager to focus on the local transfer market.
Villa have already sealed the return of former England international Ashley Young on a one-year deal and also landed Norwich City midfielder Emi Buendia.
Smith outlined a clear strategy by the club in their dealings this summer, stating: "In terms of our recruitment, we talk about the sweet spots that we're looking for, which is that the players have Premier League experience and are [ideally] British because there is no adaptation risk at all.
"Then you're looking at experience of the top-five leagues.
"That's the kind of process we got through when we're looking to recruit."
