Manchester United want veteran goalkeeper Lee Grant to stay next season.

United are set to add experienced stopper Tom Heaton to the goalkeeping ranks for pre-season after he agreed to join on a free transfer.

Heaton left Aston Villa at the end of last term and will come in as a third option for manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, replacing Sergio Romero.

He will work behind David de Gea and Dean Henderson.

ESPN report Grant has an offer to remain with United next season, the 38-year-old is set to become a free agent, but plays a pivotal role behind the scenes.
