Arsenal are eyeing Benfica left-back Nuno Tavares.
Arsenal have made the first move in the race to sign Tavares, Newcastle are also keen.
It has been stated that a move to England is imminent for the Portugal star, with the Gunners targeting a new back-up to Kieran Tierney.
It appears that Tavares is the man they hope will fill that role, with Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reporting Arsenal have been in contact with the player's agents, with Benfica hoping for £14.5million.
