Manchester United are ready to firm up their interest in Atalanta centre-back Christian Romero.
The Red Devils have made an offer for the 23-year-old defender with the intent of signing him this summer.
According to Rudy Galetti, an Italian journalist for Calciomercato and Sportitalia, United have made an offer of roughly €50 million.
The issue for the Red Devils is that Premier League rivals Liverpool are also seriously interested in Romero.
Atalanta would be happy for United and Liverpool to engage in an auction, which would raise the selling price of Romero this summer.
