Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea has paid tribute to Sergio Romero as the Argentine departs.
Romero was one of eight players released by the Premier League team on Friday.
De Gea, who is rumoured to be looking to leave the club himself in the transfer window, posted on social media about Romero's departure.
De Gea wrote: "Good luck, Chiqui! I wish you success, my friend. You deserve to be treated well in your new challenge. Enjoy."
Romero was at the club for six years after signing back in 2015 and he wasn't the only goalkeeper to get the boot as Joel Pereira was also released.
Alongside the keepers, six academy players were let go; Jacob Carney, Mark Helm, Iestyn Hughes, Arnau Puigmal, Max Taylor and Aliou Traore.
