Aston Villa are ready to hand captain Jack Grealish a history-breaking contract to keep him at the club.

The Sun says Villa are prepared to offer Grealish a club record £200,000 a week in a bid to keep him out of the  clutches of champs Manchester City.

Villa are desperate to tie down their star player, 25, to a new contract and are willing to make him one of the highest earners in the Prem.

City have made the England international one of their top targets this summer and are prepared to make him the first £100MILLION signing in English football.

But Villa are pulling out all the stops and have come up with an offer they hope will ensure they keep the midfielder at the club for years to come.

Grealish still has four years left to run on his current deal which was only signed a year ago.

But City remain hopeful they can prise Grealish away.

They would not only be able to match any financial terms on offer but can also offer the chance to play in the Champions League.
