Liverpool chiefs are wary of Real Madrid preparing a summer bid for Mohamed Salah.

The Daily Express says Real have been looking at Kylian Mbappe for some time but reportedly could view a move for Salah as a back-up plan if PSG refuse to let their most prized asset walk this summer.

The Egyptian enjoyed another impressive campaign for Liverpool in 2020/21, contributing 31 goals and six assists across 50 appearances in all competitions.

The 29-year-old holds star status in Jurgen Klopp's squad and Liverpool are unlikely to let him leave easily with two years remaining on his contract.

However, there have been rumours of discontent from Salah's camp over the past few months, heightening speculation he could make an Anfield exit in the near future.
