Kevin Strootman is delighted with his move to Cagliari.
The Holland midfielder joined Cagliari on-loan from Olympique Marseille, where he has a contract to 2023.
Strootman said: "I really want to start in a new team, I want to do my best. It's special for me, with my new teammates and the fans. There is a bit of tension but I'm not nervous.
"I immediately felt good with my teammates, they are all strong. Sometimes there is a year when things aren't going well, but with strong players, sooner or later the values come out.
"I want to play where the coach wants. I have been in Cagliari for a few days and everyone is happy that I have arrived. I want to do well and my family will be well in Sardinia. We now have a few weeks to prepare for the start of the season. I greet all the supporters and I hope to see them soon at the stadium."
