Konrad de la Fuente says he left Barcelona for Olympique Marseille chasing a World Cup place with the USA.
The winger was presented to the local media yesterday.
Explaining his reasons for leaving Barca, Konrad said: "I decided to come here because I considered it an opportunity, people saw in me that there was potential. I play as a winger, it's my natural position, but I'm open to what people can offer me.
"I want to grow more here, and play for the national team for the World Cup in Qatar. And for that we have to have a good season. There is no risk to come to Ligue 1. It is a championship with potential and which is in transition. I knew that OM were a great club, with a great team. I was already watching Ligue 1 football regularly and I knew it was going to be good for me."
