England manager Gareth Southgate explained his decision to star Bukayo Saka on the right against Denmark instead of Jadon Sancho.

The Arsenal youngster was preferred to the talented Borussia Dortmund winger as England overcame the Danes after extra time to secure a spot in the Euro 2002 final against Italy on Sunday.

Saka created the equalising goal for England in the first half as his cross was turned in by Simon Kjaer to make the score 1-1.

Explaining his decision Southtage told ITV: "What he's done in the previous matches, he's really embraced that challenge.

"We were very pleased with Jadon at the weekend.

"Everybody knows we've got fantastic options in those areas but we felt for the balance of tonight that Bukayo is the right choice."
