Chelsea are not in the best position to secure Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund this summer.
The Blues have made their desire to sign a top centre-forward no secret.
Manager Thomas Tuchel likely believes a prolific striker could take his team, which won the Champions League last term, to an even higher level.
"Chelsea are trying but it is going to be very difficult," said a source close to discussions about a possible Haaland transfer this summer, per Sky Sports News.
"At the moment it looks like mission impossible. It is unlikely but that doesn't mean it can't happen."
Given Dortmund sold Jadon Sancho to Manchester United, they may not be willing to let another important player leave.
