Liverpool are pushing Borussia Monchengladbach to drop their price for Florian Neuhaus.

The young Germany international is a target for Reds manager Jurgen Klopp, reports Sport1, who has been speaking with the midfielder's agents this summer.

Liverpool are keen to ferry Neuhaus away from Gladbach this summer, but not at their current €40m asking price.

The 24 year-old is viewed by Klopp as an ideal replacement for Gini Wijnaldum, now of PSG, but Liverpool are refusing to consider Gladbach's current valuation.

Last season, Neuhaus played 33 games in the Bundesliga, scoring six goals and making five assists.
