Vieira was named new Palace manager last week and was in place to take the first week of preseason training.
On a sunny London day, Vieira addressed the players for yesterday's first session of the season before having them undergo some light drills as the players returned from their summer break.
Vieira was spotted in deep conversation with star attacker Wilfried Zaha, who was present with several senior teammates for the first day back.
