Rennes chief Florian Maurice has confirmed their interest in Arsenal defender William Saliba.
However, Maurice says a move for Saliba isn't a priority as Arsenal won't consider an outright sale.
He stated, "This is not the main avenue because it would be a loan and not a long-term commitment."
Saliba spent the second-half of last season with Nice, where he impressed enough to earn a place in France's Olympics squad.
Along with Rennes, Olympique Marseille are also interested in Saliba.
