Everton U23 coach David Unsworth was delighted with Lewis Dobbin after his hat-trick in their friendly win against Warrington Rylands.
After having a spell training with Rafael Benitez's First Team this month - including an outing at the weekend in a 3-0 practice match win against Accrington Stanley - Dobbin caught the eye in the young Blues' warm-up game on Tuesday night.
“It doesn't matter if it's pre-season or the last game of the season, strikers like to score goals and Lewis has started really well," said Unsworth to the club's website.
“He had a little taste with the First Team on Saturday and he's followed it up with, not just his goals tonight, but also a great first-half performance."
Along with Dobbin, Tony Cannon also scored for Everton in the 4-2 win.
