Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel admits playing in the Super Cup final was the "worst thing that could happen" before the Premier League opener.
The Blues beat Villarreal in a penalty shootout on Wednesday to lift the Super Cup trophy.
They will have a short turnaround for Saturday's clash with Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge, and Tuchel admits the situation isn't ideal.
"Mentally it's a good one," Tuchel said. "Physically it's the worst thing that could happen.
"Victory and a trophy helps regenerate."
On the performance, Tuchel added: "We were very strong in the first 30 minutes then we lost easy balls.
"Second half we lost too many balls. They deserved the equaliser. We were very strong after conceding the goal."
