Japhet Tanganga has been taken off the transfer market by Tottenham.

The Daily Express says Tanganga will fight for his place at Spurs after nullifying Manchester City stars Raheem Sterling and Jack Grealish at the weekend.

Galatasaray were interested in a loan deal for the Spurs academy graduate but it was never something that the defender was keen on.

But his man-of-the-match performance against City has cemented his status at Tottenham for the coming season as he helped his side earn a clean sheet against last season's Premier League champions in a 2-0 win.

Tanganga's performance has also pushed Serge Aurier closer to the exit door, however, as the Ivorian right-back has been left out of Tottenham's squad to face Pacos de Ferreira in the UEFA Conference League later this week.
